*TRIBUTE TO MAMA VICTORIA OMOYENI OYELADE*
_5th August 1940 – 5th August 2026 | Aged 87_
We bow in gratitude to God for the life of *Mama Victoria Omoyeni Oyelade* — a virtuous woman, a teacher, a mother, a guardian, and a pillar whose footprints will remain on our hearts forever.
Mama was the wife of an Anglican Bishop, and in that calling she lived with grace, humility, and quiet strength. She understood that the home and the church are the first schools of character. She therefore became both. To her children, she was a loving mother. To many of us who were not her biological children, she was a guardian who opened her home, her table, and her heart. She was accommodating, patient, cool, and well disciplined. Her presence brought peace to every room she entered.
As a teacher, Mama believed education was about more than books. She taught character. She taught kindness. She taught perseverance. She believed that a child with good character will succeed anywhere in life. Many lives were shaped under her watch, and she never grew tired of correcting in love and encouraging with wisdom.
Mama was a committed member of the Girls’ Brigade. There she modeled discipline, service, and godliness to young girls, showing them that true beauty is a gentle and quiet spirit. Her life preached the gospel louder than words.
She was a woman of virtue — Proverbs 31 in flesh. Caring without counting the cost. Giving without expecting anything in return. She had a large heart that made room for everyone. I will never forget how she would call me with that fond, maternal voice: *"Omo Baba Ezek & Sons"*. In those words I heard love, pride, and prayer. She spoke life into me.
On 5th August 2026, at the age of 87, Mama returned to her Maker. Though we grieve, we do not grieve as those without hope. She finished her race well. She fought the good fight. She kept the faith.

*Thank you* for your discipline that looked like strictness but was love.
*Thank you* for your patience that taught us to wait on God.
*Thank you* for showing us that a good name is better than riches.
To the Oyelade family, we stand with you. Your mother was a gift not only to you, but to the church, the community, and to all of us whose lives she touched.
Mama Victoria, rest in the bosom of the Lord you served so faithfully. Your works will follow you. Your lessons will live in us. And until we meet again at the feet of Jesus, we will honor you by living with the character, kindness, and perseverance you taught us.
