To the family of Late Deaconess Olufunke Omonike, It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute in honor of Mama, a truly wonderful woman whose kindness, warmth, and love touched my life deeply. Though I may not have spent many years around her, the little time I stayed with the family remains unforgettable to me. She welcomed me with open arms, treated me like her own son, and provided me shelter, food, care, and comfort without hesitation. For that, I will forever remain grateful. Mama was full of life, love, and wisdom. She was not only an exceptional cook whose meals brought joy and comfort, but also a devoted child of God who reflected the love of Jesus in the way she lived and cared for others. Her presence carried peace, strength, and genuine kindness. She played a remarkable role in guiding, advising, and supporting her children, raising them with values that will continue to speak for her even in her absence. Her generosity and motherly spirit left a lasting impact on everyone privileged to know her. She was the kind of woman whose home radiated warmth and whose words carried encouragement and wisdom. Truly, her life was a blessing. Though she is gone from this world, the memories of her goodness, laughter, care, and faith will remain alive in our hearts. Heaven has gained a precious soul. May the Lord grant the entire family strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. Mama lived well, loved well, and will never be forgotten. Her genuine friendliness and unmatched hospitality turned ordinary student visits into cherished memories of a home away from home. Dear Mummy Tolu, hearing the news of your sudden departure through a social media post came as a rude, heartbreaking shock. I am still struggling to process the reality that you are truly gone. I remember entering your home through a bossom friend, completely unaware that I was about to gain a second mother. You accepted me without hesitation, nurtured me, and treated me as your own flesh and blood. Your warmth, kindness, and motherly embrace made your home a sanctuary for me. The memory of the just is indeed blessed. Mrs. Akinde, you were an emblem of the Holyspirit's grace. Looking at your children, I had a hope that I will raise mine right and in the way of the Lord, losing none of them. You were that example for me because I know your children were birthed out of your discipleship. I usually used you as a pointer to covet that grace. Thank you so much, Ma'am for showing me that it is possible. You were also such a great teacher of the word. I was always excited when you were to take the Sunday School classes on Sunday. Thank you for labouring in the word and for the personal corrections with kind words filled with wisdom too. I am most grateful. I am most certain that you're resting with the one you lived your life to serve faithfully. Continue to rest in peace, Ma'am. Till we meet again at the feet of Jesus and rejoice forever more.

They say a teacher’s influence is eternal, but a Sunday School teacher’s influence is heavenly. Mrs Akinde Olufunke spent her life sowing seeds of grace, patience, and love into soil that wasn't her own. Today, we stand as the garden she tended. Though she is no longer with us in person, we are the living evidence of her devotion. Well done, good and faithful servant.
